(EDIT – I am being told that this is actually a MISTAKE, and that the “please note” line was not supposed to be in there. I will update the story when the promotion language is changed, but it sounds like they are indeed paying for the travel and lodging accommodations here. In the meantime, the original story is below.)

Thanks to reader Jim for sending this over. He noticed that the Washington Commanders teamed up with SeatGeek on a ticket giveaway for their Saturday playoff game in Detroit. But if you look at the fine print, the winner of the sweepstakes is responsible for their own travel and lodging.

Please note: This sweepstakes is for tickets only, travel and accommodations are not included” –

I signed up under the pseudonym of “Commie McCommunist,” so we’ll see if I win.

But seriously, how lame of a sweepstakes is this? Sign up, and if you win, you get two tickets to the Commanders/Lions game! But we aren’t paying for shit beyond that. You gotta pay for the flight, or drive across the Winter hellscape known as Ohio. And then when you get there, you need a place to stay, and we all know how lovely Detroit is this time of the year. Someone send this contest to Josh Harris and/or some PR flak at SeatGeek so they know how fugazi it is. Surely Josh can lend these lucky fans his helicopter for a day or two. Go Birds!
