Eagles Sign Super Bowl Champion and All-Pro Zack Baun to a New Deal
Bang bang:
Breaking: Eagles are re-signing All-Pro LB Zack Baun to a three-year, $51 million contract, including $34 million guaranteed at signing and additional $1.5 million in incentives and escalators, per sources. The contract instantly makes Baun one of the highest-paid LBs in the NFL. pic.twitter.com/n7zkzIgwcD

Incredible story arc for Baun, who was picked up off the New Orleans scrap heap and turned into a starter in Vic Fangio’s system. He had a career year, earned his first Pro Bowl selection, was named first-team All-Pro, then won a Super Bowl on top of it. Now he’s been rewarded with a $34 million guaranteed.
Isn’t it funny how quickly things change? Howie Roseman had not spent money at the linebacker or running back position in YEARS. Then he goes out and gets Saquon Barkley and Zack Baun, who both have career years and get paid a few weeks after winning their first ring. And knowing Howie, there’s some backloaded void year wizardry probably baked into both contracts, which allows for short team flexibility in exchange for the dead money can being kicked down the road.
