The Box Demon’s career:

Steve Dykes-USA TODAY Sports

Well that was anticlimactic. I thought the Box Demon was at least going to give us a couple weeks of content while they went on their reign of terror. It was just starting to get the Internet on its side. Was it a protest against Amazon dissecting small businesses across the world? Was it a marketing stunt for Roblox? Was it a crackhead? We’ll never know because no one wants to talk.

Instead we get nothing and the police won’t comment further via the Northern York County Regional Police:

The police have identified and spoken to the “Box Demon.” There are no public safety concerns.

The homeowner who had the box placed on her doorstep was made aware of the identification and does not wish to speak any further regarding this incident.

Now York County will move on and the Box Demon will become an urban legend. Sure there will be whispers around town about who it was, but the public majority will never know. In a way I feel kind of cheated. I was ready to invest in this story. If it got out of hand I might’ve went out there myself to cover it.

Now we’re just left with advice from Tammy (who I guess actually wanted to talk?) delivered to us by York County’s Walter Cronkite:

“Don’t do it again!” A small, but strong demand. What’re they hiding in York? This should be the last season of Stranger Things. RIP to the Box Demon.
