Looks Like the Phillies are Waving the White Flag

The Phils are in Washington for a double-header today, and if they lose game one they’ll be eliminated from postseason contention.

Might as well throw in the towel right now when you look at this lineup:

No J.T. Realmuto, who had an MRI after being sidelined with knee soreness, so in comes catcher Deivy Grullon to start his first big league game.

On top of that, you’ve got relief pitcher Blake Parker on the mound this afternoon while Brad Miller bats cleanup. I’m not saying the Phillies are dead just yet, but the life support machine is about to run out of power and the backup generator is offline. In a few hours I believe we will be officially looking ahead to next season.
