Let’s get it back to the Eagles.

This morning Michael Vick went on Speak for Yourself with Jason Whitlock, T.J. Houshmandzadeh, and Marcellus Wiley. Whitlock opened the segment by pronouncing “Agholor” incorrectly, then asked the group if Carson Wentz will fail in Philadelphia.

Here’s what Vick said:

Vick:

He will fail in Philadelphia. I think, just the bar has been set so high by Nick Foles, and regardless of when he came in, he did what he did, they won the Super Bowl. Now it’s a ceiling that’s been set. Along with Carson Wentz’s character, which has sometimes been questioned by his teammates and the public, it just makes it difficult for him. I just think he’s fighting an uphill battle continuously, week-in and week-out, to win, to be a good teammate. It’s a lot. It takes a lot from you to be able to handle that responsibility.

He pointed out how difficult it is to chase Nick Foles, which really was the crux of what Vick was saying. It didn’t seem necessarily like an anti-Wentz take, but more of a “he’s in a tough situation” type of take. That’s my interpretation.
