The Union’s U12 Team Can Really Play

The Philadelphia Union Academy hasn’t even been around for 10 years, but there are some talented kids coming through the pipeline these days.
Check out some of the ridiculousness in this highlight reel of the U12 kids tearing it up in Brazil:

Some of these skill checks are incredibly hard for even adult pros to do.
The chip at 20 seconds, that’s really difficult to pull off when you’re that close to the goal, especially from a side angle. And the 30 second mark, where the midfielder stays upright after a slide tackle, plays advantage, and gets the assist? That’s Patrick Vieira/Arsenal type of stuff, being able to hold your feet and carry through contact. The cut backs and bursts of pace are also super fun to watch.
It’s eye-popping stuff. These kids are really, really good.
