You see this viral video going around?

Barstool shared it last night, a clip featuring two young girls going through a playlist of late 90s and early 2000s jams, and they’re supposed to move to one side of the camera based on whether they know the song or not.

Watch this:

Either they’re lying or deaf, because everybody knows In da Club. And that Usher song, Burn, topped the charts in 2004 and got heavy play for a few years after, so even if you’re only a teenager in 2020 you probably heard it at some point growing up.

I think the part that really penetrated deeply and did irreparable damage to my soul was the face this young lady made during the Missy Elliott tune:

That is blasphemous! (Stephen A Smith voice).

I’m sorry these young ladies have not heard these jams previously, or perhaps they were not blessed with the gift of hearing. It’s less about me feeling old and more about feeling disappointed that they did not grow up in an era that blessed us with the best R&B and hip hop tunes, like that K-Ci &Jojo banger they always played at the Boyertown junior high dances back in 1999.

Anyway, I’m looking for Philly sports stories to write on a Friday, so if you’ve got anything, gimme a shout.
