Big week for American soccer.

We beat Mexico in the Gold Cup final on Sunday night, and today Philadelphia Union alumnus Brenden Aaronson scored the game-winner in a preseason match against Barcelona:

Gotta follow your shot, kids. Can’t stand there and ball watch. Aaronson is a blue-collar Philly guy and always plays until the whistle.

He’s our guy. The Medford Messi. 20 years old and scoring game-winners against F.C. Barcelona. We’ve come a long way. This ain’t your grandmother’s Delaware Valley when it comes to developing soccer players.
