Congratulations are in order, because we’ve got a local team going to the Little League World Series in Williamsport.

Upper Providence took out Toms River on Thursday night to win the Mid-Atlantic regional game:

Hell yeah. Montco stand up! Let’s go baby.

In case you have no clue where Upper Providence Township is, it’s a stretch of the suburbs running from Oaks up to the Royersford and Collegeville/Trappe borders. It’s a funky quadrant that straddles route 422 just past King of Prussia.

There are some great shopping centers in Upper Providence. First, you’ve got the spot right off the highway in Oaks, with the movie theater and Arnold’s Family Fun Center. There’s also a Buffalo Wild Wings, which is Kyle’s favorite restaurant. Then, if you go further up, you get the Providence Town Center, with the Movie Tavern and Wegman’s. Love that spot. And finally, they claim that corner of Ridge Pike, with the Target and Petco.

Upper Providence Township: where great suburban shopping takes place, and elite baseball is played.
