I’m putting off my Xfinity Live! review until I get a second chance to experience the place in-full (which I will this weekend). The early reviews – meaning, people on the interwebtuals – are extremely positive. The segmented layout of the place – four restaurants surrounding a gigantic sports bar – probably doesn’t function as was originally intended… but I’m not so sure that even matters. Everyone just drinks, it doesn't matter where.

When I walked into the complex for the first time (the first time since it’s been completed, at least) on Saturday between Flyers and Sixers games, the entire building felt like one big frat party– and I don’t mean that as a bad thing. Ms. CB and I immediately strolled into the Victory Beer Hall, at 6 p.m., expecting to find crowded, yet relatively tame atmosphere. Instead, a house band was playing Pitbull’s Give Me Everything as about three dozen people danced on tabletops. Hardly a German-style beer hall. But again– no one was complaining.

We stayed for one more song– Rihanna’s We Found Love.

Anyway, without experiencing the joint during downtime (which may not exist at Xfinity Live!), I don’t think I’m going out on a limb by saying that the whole place is just one big fucking party. So of course the grand opening of PBR today will feature eight live bulls in the parking lot

At 11 a.m. bull riders will, presumably, um, ride bulls to usher in this new era of craziness at the stadium complex. PBR, as it’s called, is the Tex-Mex style restaurant that doubles as a brothel the sluttiest, most curiously-placed, oddest and delightfully intriguing bar South Philly has ever seen. It’s like someone gave the guys from GirlsofPhilly.com (NSFW!!!) a $100k and told them to open a sports bar, and this is what they came up with.

We’ll have coverage of the bulls later, if anything interesting happens.

Video after the jump from Victory Beer Hall and PBR.
