Action News Adds Renee Washington as Sports Reporter and Anchor

Quick break for some media news, then we’ll get it back to the Eagles:
WON’T HE DO IT🙏🏾Philly has given me so much as a 3x all-American & HOFer at @lasalle_wsoc, @lehighwsoccer coach, and reporter with ESPN, the @philaunion, and more. As a Jersey girl, I’m thankful to join the incredibly talented team at @6abc as a sports reporter and anchor!☺️🫶🏾📺 pic.twitter.com/ZkilaF1yMt

Washington is from the Trenton area. As she mentions in the post, she played soccer at La Salle and was a three-time All American there, bagging 40 goals and 21 assists in four seasons with the Explorers. She played in the NWSL for a bit before transitioning into a media, speaking, and modeling career. She’s done a lot of work for ESPN and you may have seen her on the PHL17 Union broadcasts.
This brings Action News back to three sports people following Jeff Skversky’s 2022 departure. He left the station almost a year ago, and recently resurfaced as a co-anchor for CBS Detroit alongside former FOX29 anchor Shaina Humphries. WPVI had been rolling with Ducis Rodgers and Jamie Apody as the main sports duo for 2022.
Kevin has been writing about Philadelphia sports since 2009. He spent seven years in the CBS 3 sports department and started with the Union during the team's 2010 inaugural season. He went to the academic powerhouses of Boyertown High School and West Virginia University. email - k.kinkead@sportradar.com
