“Designated Hitler.” Poor guy. At least he rolled with it and said “sorry about that folks.”
Quick lesson I learned with this story:
I originally had “Freudian Slip” written in the headline, but going with that would be accusatory, because it suggests that the error in speech reveals some sort of subconscious feeling. I’ll give this guy the benefit of the doubt and say he’s not a Nazi, so it would be wrong to call this a Freudian Slip (or a Parapraxis). That’s why we went with Slip of the Tongue instead, which is a banger of a Whitesnake album:
