Let’s get it back to baseball with the MLB trade deadline, which hits at 6:30 this evening.

The Phils are being linked to Teoscar Hernandez:

Hernandez played most of his career with the Blue Jays and was a 2021 All Star. This year he’s slashing .238/.288/.406 with 59 RBI, 16 homers, and 17 doubles. He’s played every single game for the Mariners this year, a durable righty with some power who also strikes out A LOT. He actually leads the league in strikeouts, so he would fit right in on this Phillies team. He’s been neck-and-neck with Kyle Schwarber for the league lead in whiffs all season long.

Hernandez is 30 years old and was traded to Seattle in November. He’s earning $14 million this year and then becomes an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.
