AJ Brown Thinks the NFL Should Eliminate Monday Night Football

AJ Brown was doing an endorsement spot with Draftkings where he mentioned he thinks the NFL should eliminate Monday Night Football. Question starts at 1:32 –

Interviewer: How much harder is it to get ready during those shorter weeks? Does it make that much of a difference?
AJ: It most definitely does. Because it’s a short week and then right after the game you only have a certain amount of time just for your body to recover, and it speeds up the process, and that adds on wear and tear with practice and more stuff. So it gets difficult. The Monday night games, I think, they should take them out. I know it’s cool, everybody watching you on Monday night, but the turnaround after that, it’s difficult, especially if you leave the game a little banged up.”
Keep fighting the good fight AJ. Maybe less fighting with Eagles fans on Twitter and more fighting the NFL.
But lets be honest we’ll see the Eagles defense get a stop on third and long before we see the NFL take away football on Monday, Thursday, Christmas, Black Friday, Veterans Day, Taco Tuesday, or any day they can have a game. If they cared about players getting their bodies right they would force MetLife to change their turf before it snatches another knee or make sure teams aren’t playing three games in 13 days while their opponents have 10 days off to prepare. You don’t like it?
The NFL are bloodsuckers. We know that. They will squeeze every last penny out of the TV contracts until they can put a game on every day of the week. I mean Amazon shelled out $100 million for ONE game and the ratings “sucked”. Still 9 million people watched. Between the Prime subs and Black Friday QR codes we were smacked in the face every time Al Michaels slurred his way to break, Jeff Bezos was laughing all the way to the bank.
It’s insane the kind of hold NFL has over the country. They has us by the balls and they know it. I mean why did I watch the Rams vs. Saints last night? Wtf do I care about two .500 teams fighting for a playoff spot? I don’t. But I had Rams -4 and a DeMarcus Robinson ATD slip while Puka Nacua is on my fantasy team. That’s the beauty of the NFL. You can have some skin in the game from all different avenues. Fantasy, gambling, DFS, or just being a fan. I could care less about Rangers vs. DBacks on Sunday Night Baseball. But you give me a Raiders 63-21 route over the Chargers and I’m watching til the end because it’s the only game on. Not to mention the impact social media plays in all of this too. I don’t want that FOMO if I miss a viral moment. So will I be tuning into the 5-9 Jets vs. the 9-5 Browns next week?
