If you’re unfamiliar with my new pod, Men At Work, here’s the layman’s terms. We set up a table somewhere with mics and get random people to join and tell us what they do for a living. Then the conversation just goes from there. My co-host Matt Peoples and I thought this was a good idea for a podcast because society identifies so much with their job or what they want it to be. I’ve also found that there are a lot of interesting people in the Philly area and beyond with interesting jobs and interesting stories. In this episode the Blue Collar babies, the Middle Class Mami’s, and the White Collar Criminals all gathered around to have a conversation. What other podcast is going to show you that many walks of life in an hour? Check it out!

If You Were Making $30k at a Sales Job Right Out of College This Episode is for You

That title might’ve segmented the listenership a little, but I know there are a lot of people out there who had an equally shitty job out of college like I did. Loans stacked above your head, no job prospects going into graduation, and applying to 100 different places on LinkedIn that may or may not be a scam. I can’t tell you how many times I was tricked going to interview at a sales job that ended up just being a door to door salesman for Comcast or Verizon. If you were making no money and hated every single day of your life just know you weren’t alone and this week’s Men At Work (subscribe, like, share) is for you. We were joined by Philly comedian Brendan Donegan at a Haddonfield Car Show to get the low down on what people who own exotic cars do for a living. If you were in sales or recruiting and making $30k out of college this episode like I was this will be right up your alley. Enjoy the show!

I’ll be honest I don’t travel outside of the Shore and the Cherry Hill Wegmans when I venture over the bridge, but I like the cut of Haddonfield’s jib. Apparently it’s expensive as shit so that’s only a pipe dream of living there one day.
Anyway in this episode we open up Matt’s childhood trauma and recap my spectacular play in front of a former Philadelphia Eagle. We talk to a research scientist who studies plastics and recyclables to figure out how much microplastics we’re ingesting a day. We then talk to an old school electrician who tells us about how insurers make electricians wire houses differently now and the major increase in parts. Then Philly comedian Brendan Donegan comes on to talk about our worst first jobs out of college. A retired AT&T telegrapher tells us about the day the government broke up the monopoly and flying to the Philippines to train workers who were about to take his job. Finally we end with a small business freight salesman who tries to win our business.
