Mike Missanelli vs. JAKIB Media to Continue After Judge Denies Motion to Dismiss

The Mike Missanelli vs. JAKIB Media legal battle will continue after a judge denied JAKIB owner Joe Krause’s motion to dismiss:

Missanelli is suing for what he says amounts to tens of thousands of dollars in unpaid compensation. Krause asked for the case to be tossed because Missanelli did not include the full employment agreement as evidence in his initial filing, submitting only two of the three pages. The judge gave Missanelli 14 days to refile with the complete contract, which he did, which then resulted in the denial of Krause’s motion.

Krause’s argument is that Missanelli did not fulfill his contract obligations in the two years he worked for JAKIB Media, primarily on the Philadelphia Eagles postgame show. The third contract page, originally omitted, asks talent to promote JAKIB shows on social media with “like/share/subscribe” messaging and other general guidelines. In response, Missanelli’s lawyer submitted two pages of tweets that include promotion of JAKIB’s postgame show.

The contract language does not put any kind of numeric requirement on social media posting and more or less asks talent to leverage their platforms and work with JAKIB’s social media person to grow the brand and boost the shows.

So the case continues. Krause is on record saying he turned down a $40,000 settlement offer, while Missanelli is also on the record saying he turned down a settlement offer. After November court hearings, Krause alleges he was threatened and intimidated by Missanelli, requiring a courthouse officer to “intervene and physically restrain him to prevent further escalation.” Missanelli denied the accusation, saying that there was “no physical altercation other than his failed, belligerent attempt to get into the elevator with my attorney and myself.”
