I Can’t Get Over Our Guy Luke’s Awful Seat in the Phillies Press Box

Yesterday our baseball guy Luke Arcaini posted a video of the electricity from Phillies fans after Jose Alvarado got the final out. I’ve never immediately laughed so hard when I saw his view. Those two giant poles right in front of him are an insane way to have to watch baseball when you write about it for a living:

Now Luke is new on the beat this year for CB. He should get the worst seat in the press box. He needs to earn his stripes. He should be carrying Todd Zolecki and Matt Gelb’s bags, getting ice cream from Frankie Two Scoops for Tim Kelly and Corey Seidman, and sharpening Ant SanFilippo’s pencils. Devan Kaney gets any outlet in the press box over him because it’s seniority and she’s never lost while on the Eagles sideline. Still I never thought he’d get a seat this bad. I need to know who in the Phillies decides this stuff. Honestly my ego hopes it’s the team sticking it to me because of all the Dollar Dog stuff. Luke claims it’s not as bad in person as it is on camera, but he’s a nice guy. This seat STINKS! He’s going to need a neck brace by the time the season is over. He better send the invoice for the sciatica he’s going to develop from shimmying around in his seat all year.

Now will he complain? Absolutely not. We won’t let him and because he’s a lunch pail guy. CB might not be in the pantheon of the Inquirer or NBCSports Philly or The Athletic (with ads) in the Phillies eyes, but that’s ok. We enjoy being the underdog. We flourish being the ragtag upstart. It’s the same site as it was 15 years ago (minus the comment section – RIP Candy). The one Mike Missanelli used to ridicule on his show and stick his nose up at while also reading it every single day. Luke’s gonna put his hard hat on every time he’s down there, crack his fingers, and not be able to watch one left-handed at bat all season. Was that last pitch a strike or a ball? Don’t ask Luke! He didn’t see it because this is how he’s watching games all year:
