Oh baby, we’re cooking with gas now. The flyers traded the 22nd and 31st picks to the Yinzers to move up to 12 and select Jack Nesbitt:

They climbed up to get their center, which is what a lot of fans and media were hoping for after the Porter Martone selection. Ultimately they packaged the pick they got from Edmonton in last year’s draft, and the pick from the Sean Walker trade, and used them to move up 10 spots.

Nesbitt is 6’5″, 186 pounds, another huge guy at just 18 years old. The question is whether or not he’s any good. A number of experts are saying they had him ranked around 50th on their big boards. 50th! Apparently he’s a project kind of player with a big body who does a lot of gritty things. Seems like a Rick Tocchet type of guy that they can work on. This is now two huge dudes they’ve drafted, which might HEARKEN a return to old school Flyers hockey. Even if they don’t win the game, it looks like they will be able to beat the stuffing out of the other team.
