Jack Nesbitt with a Draft Night Shot at the Penguins

How do you make an instant impression on the city of Philadelphia? Take a shot at a rival on draft night.
The Flyers selected Porter Martone with the 6th overall pick in the NHL Draft on Friday night. With the 22nd and 31st pick still in the holster, they traded both to move up to 12 to draft Jack Nesbitt, an 18-year-old, 6’5 center.
I haven’t seen one person say anything bad about the Porter Martone pick. The reviews on the Nesbitt selection were definitely mixed. It seemed like the Flyers could’ve potentially gotten him at 22 without making a trade. Nonetheless, Danny Briere got his guy.
Maybe he took him because of his skill, or maybe he took him because he knew Jack Nesbitt already hated the Penguins:
You have to love it. Nesbitt said he wasn’t really expecting to go that early in the draft, although he did have some conversations with the Flyers. Flyers fans don’t like the pick? Nesbitt is doing everything he can to make fans change their mind, and I absolutely love it.
