We’ve Got Enough Information to Bet on the MLB All-Star Game, Which is Normally a Crapshoot

The MLB All-Star Game can be a crapshoot to bet on.
We know who’s pitching the first inning, and who’s batting for roughly the first four or five innings, but after that, good luck if you pick the right player to be the MVP. Jarren Duran and Elias Diaz were the last two ASG MVPs, and both players had exponential pregame odds.
The one trend that is concrete is lower-scoring games.
The last five MLB ASGs have had eight runs or fewer. Yes, even the 2021 game at Coors Field had just seven runs.
Pitchers are giving their all for one inning, or just two or three hitters, because they know they don’t have to manage their arms.
So there’s no surprise that BetMGM lists the Over/Under at 7.
The American League, despite winning every ASG since 2013 with the exception of one, is a slight money line underdog at -105. The National League money line sits at -115.
The NL owns the betting starting lineup. Shohei Ohtani will lead off with Ronald Acuna Jr. and Ketel Marte behind him.
The AL lineup starts with Gleyber Torres and Riley Greene, two players with great seasons, but not quite superstars.
With that in mind, I think there’s a way you can approach Paul Skenes props for the first inning. Skenes started the 2024 ASG and didn’t strike anyone out, but this time around, he should have fewer nerves from last year’s experience and he’s facing three strikeout-prone batters.
In fact, Greene leads the majors with 125 strikeouts. Judge is fourth in the majors with 109 strikeouts, and if the inning gets to Cal Raleigh, he’s seventh in the AL in strikeouts.
Skenes is +155 to record two strikeouts and +650 to record three punchouts at bet365.
bet365 has a Safety Net Bet up to $10 on Same Game Parlays for Tuesday’s ASG.
I would use Skenes to record two strikeouts as the base of that SGP.
Dave Roberts said two batters in the second inning will belong to Clayton Kershaw. The veteran southpaw is there as more of a celebration of his career instead of his 2025 performance.
I would look at Vladimir Guerrero Jr., to get a hit at +105. If you believe Skenes will only face three pitchers, Raleigh is a good choice at +115 to get a hit, but I’d expect Vladdy to face Kershaw.
The AL pitching order isn’t known after Tarik Skubal, but based off the NL batting order, I assume Bryan Woo, Carlos Rodon, and Joe Ryan get the early innings in some order. All of those pitchers have been better than Kershaw in 2025.
The AL First 3 Innings Money Line has value at +350 because of the potential for the AL to get runs off Kershaw in the second.
A SGP of Skenes 2+ strikeouts, Vladdy hit and AL First 3 ML would be the way to go for the Safety Net Bet.
Again, don’t go too crazy on PA sports betting apps, but with the information we have pregame, there’s enough to wager on.
