Kyle Schwarber Had One of the Greatest All-Star Game Moments Ever

Last night was awesome! Kyle Schwarber stepped up to the plate, mashed three straight home runs in the first All-Star Game swing-off ever, and took home the ASG MVP. It wasn’t just one of the greatest Phillies ASG moments ever, it was one of the greatest ASG moments of all-time:
What a night! Pete Alonso doesn’t get to play hero and a Phillie wins the MVP in a rival’s ballpark. It’s even funnier now after the Atlanta crowd boo’d him during intros. There was no one better than Schwarbs for the swing-off. If you could design someone in a lab built for BP it’s Kyle Schwarber. Schwarbomb after Schwarbomb after Schwarbomb. He could’ve easily taken down the Big Dumper in the Home Run Derby and you couldn’t convince me otherwise.
Legend:
For as much as I love watching Kyle Schwarber do amazing things, you think he can tone it down a bit? I feel like every cultural milestone he hits there’s another $20 million added to his contract. Now he’s adding “saving the All-Star Game” to the list. He’s just collecting them like Infinity Stones at this point and I feel like someone is going to have to pay him $200 million just for his services. He’s doing so many unbelievable things that MLB is smack dab in the middle of a cover up.
Anthony Castrovince wrote an article for MLB.com in 2022 about the new swing-off rules where he mentioned that the All-Star Game MVP will still be decided based on the results from the nine-inning game and NOT the swing-off. Well that part has been deleted now. A Reddit user used the Wayback Machine and found out MLB or Castrovince had that blurb deleted. (h/t water_is_wet05)
