We No Longer Have to Listen to Tiki Barber on NFL Sundays

Drew Lerner at Awful Announcing:

New York Giants legend Tiki Barber is joining his former team’s radio broadcast, and is thereby out at CBS.

The Giants announced on Wednesday that Barber, a three-time Pro Bowler for the team, will join WFAN’s radio broadcast this NFL season. Barber will serve as a pregame and postgame co-host for the station where he already hosts a daily weekday radio show, Evan & Tiki, at 2 p.m. ET.

Tiki was in that three-man booth with Andrew Catalon and Jason McCourty, which was kind of redundant. If the play-by-play and color guy are both decent, then two people is totally fine.

Apparently, though, CBS will continue with a trio, having JJ Watt join Ian Eagle and Evan Washburn while Charles Davis moves into Tiki’s spot:

Davis is moving over to the college side in 2026, so this is his last NFL year. He does enough talking for three people during a typical broadcast, so you wonder what McCourty is going to do. Maybe take a coffee break or kick his feet up and relax. Not that Davis is bad, because he’s not, but he’s wordy and can very easily do color commentary on his own. Feels like kind of a weird setup, but who knows? Maybe Donald Trump told CBS what to do with their broadcast groups this year, and CBS caved. Heyo! (bad joke, sorry)

Anyway, Tiki was okay. Not the best, not the worst. I just think that removing a New York Giant is addition by subtraction.
