Villanova Will Play Drexel in the “Crosstown Classic” at Citizens Bank Park on January 5

Holy hell, it’s as if some NHL marketing exec woke up this week and said, “Hey! We have a sheet of ice sitting in a ballpark in Philadelphia, perhaps we should monetize more than we are.”

That’s exactly what they’re doing.

Today, Drexel announced that the Dragons will play the – my – Villanova Wildcats in the “Crosstown Classic” at Citizens Bank Park on January 5. 

Now, not to go too preppy on you, but I have the distinct pleasure of being an alum of two schools that will play at CBP: Villanova and Malvern Prep (at which I played), who will play La Salle on January 4. I’m still holding out for my THL Oilers squad to get the nod for “Squirtfest” on January 6. Fingers crossed.
