NBA players love to choose LA, New York, Dallas, and Miami for their favorite city. Not Yao Ming. That guy loves Philadelphia. I see a Visit Philly ad in his future if they’re smart:

Shout out to the pride of Cardinal Dougherty (RIP), Cuttino Mobley, for introducing the big man to cheesesteaks. And how about Yao’s love for naval warfare? The future home of our Philadelphia Eagles Navy Yard rules. Kind of an afterthought sometimes when people are coming to the city. You have the Independence Seaport Museum on Delaware Ave, you can tour the Battleship New Jersey across the pond, but no one ever really talks about the decommissioned behemoths down in the Yard when people ask what they should do here. The first of its kind, if you didn’t know. Operated for two centuries. The country would be speaking British, French, Spanish, and/or German without our naval prowess forged by the Delaware River.

Imagine Yao on the Sixers. Sign me up! Another injury-prone center? Would’ve fit right in. The Iverson cut using Yao as the high screen guy would’ve been awesome. Also, the hilarious visual of these two would’ve been great. Imagine Yao in a Bala Cynwyd TGI Fridays:

I don’t know how much more I can say it, but Philadelphia is the center of the universe and it’s time people take notice. Nationally or internationally, it doesn’t matter. The Eagles are Super Bowl Champs and becoming a premiere brand? What’s good. 250th Anniversary? Sup. FIFA World Cup, MLB All-Star Game, and a PGA major all in the next year? How you doing! Get ready to learn ‘Go Birds’ rest of the world.
