You may have heard of Trump Derangement Syndrome, aka TDS. This is Giants Derangement Syndrome. An incurable disease that fogs your brain and afflicts you with amnesia.
I’m with Pagan right now. The Giants are a little too trendy. These jokers go through one single offseason where they don’t totally stink and now you’ve got people out here thinking they’re gonna win the NFC East. Outrageous!
This is purely a vibes-based value play. People see Jaxson Dart completing actual passes to receivers, and not tripping over his own feet. They see the G Men at +2200. So they throw a sprinkle on New York to pull a miracle. This is likely single-unit bets amounting to 5 bucks here, 10 bucks there. Still a liability because of pure volume, but the majority of the handle, more than one-third now, is on the Commanders at +225. The Birds repeating at -150 isn’t garnering nearly as much interest for obvious reasons. There hasn’t been a repeat division winner in two decades, so you’d think bettors are still very cognizant of that pattern.
The New York Giants turning a corner is like clearing the world’s lowest bar. It’s like laying the bar on the ground and then accidentally falling over it. If they win four games this year, they will have improved on their 2024 win total. Think about that. When you hit rock bottom, of course you’re gonna go up at some point. You can’t go any lower than the Giants have gone in recent years, so we’d be naive to think the Giants aren’t gonna turn the corner at some point. But if you wanna crown ’em in 2025, then crown their ass!
