Oklahoma Reporters Caught On Hot Mic Calling Temple Football a “High School Game”

Nothing I love more than a hot mic incident! It’s the best! I love knowing how people really feel when they don’t know they’re being recorded. These reporters think Temple fans and their team is nothing but a high school:

Now are they wrong about the crowds? No. I’m not gonna put my cherry and white colored glasses on and freak out and claim that Temple has an amazing atmosphere nor do I think the fans should feel obligated to show up for a three win football team every year. BUT I will say that if some people were on the fence about going to the game this weekend I don’t know what else it’s going to take for you to get a ticket. There’s nothing a Philadelphia sports fan hates more than having their pride checked. It started in 1776 with the British and it still flows through us to this day. The Knicks playoff series from a couple years ago still sticks in my crawl that we allowed fans to come into our house and takeover. And I know there are going to be more OU fans in the building on Saturday. I’m prepared for them to take over the tailgate. I just hope KC Keeler has this clip loaded up and ready to go for the boys all week. I hope he plays it right before they take the field. Because if Temple wins the memes will be endless. The shit talk would be limitless. It’s something we’d hang our hats on forever. If Evan Simon and the boys slay an SEC giant on Saturday they’ll be legends forever.

Again nothing those Sooner reporters said was wrong, but it still pissed me off. They rubbed every single Temple fan’s face in it. Hell we know we’re a bottom tier program. Everything these reporters said is nothing that I already haven’t said myself. I was calling for them to cut the football team like six months ago. But I live this shit. I’m allowed to talk all the shit I want because I put my blood, sweat, and tuition into that school. You’re an outsider. You’re not allowed to say anything so shut the fuck up. It’s like having that close friend in the group everyone picks on. You love him, but he’s an easy target. Then someone outside of the group picks on him and you all have his back. Calling us a high school program. Saying that we have a weird bowl game atmosphere. Telling us that we’re not going to expect it. We’re 2-0 now and the atmosphere around the program has done a complete 180. We scored 97 points in the first two weeks! What a bunch of uppity hillbillies out there in Norman.

Live look at me on Saturday:

TIP THE SCHOONER!
