What a turn of events over in Hawk Hill! Billy Lange just up and quits to take an NBA job WEEKS before the season:

Not to mention, he leaves St. Joes for the Nova Knicks of all places. The Billy Lange Boys are in shambles!

Couldn’t agree with Jack more. This guy seems like an absolute prick. Not only are you screwing over the guys you recruited and the fanbase, he was lucky to have a job! He repeatedly underperformed in the conference tournament with some of the best guards in the country and NBA-caliber talent. The worst part has to be the Hawks could’ve had Phil Martelli Jr. to carry on the legacy. It would’ve been a story that made national headlines. Instead, they’ll play against him after he left Bryant for VCU. Billy Lange just left in the middle of the night like a fart in the wind and the administration has to pick up the pieces. I’m shocked a guy who let Ben Simmons practice during the sleaziest hold out of all-time is actually a snake oil salesman:

A vanishing job from the most successful Big 5 coach over the last couple of years, too, which honestly might be a testament to how bad the Big 5 has been. I hope Adam Fisher has some bunk beds ready for transfer students because everyone on that St. Joes roster has a 30-day window after a coach leaves. That’s what makes this even more fucked up. I almost feel bad for the Billy Lange Boys, but this is amazing cinema. And before I go, lets not act like a Knicks job isn’t wayyyyyyy better than being the head coach of a mid-major. That’s just the facts in today’s college basketball environment. Would I rather get paid more and have a better opportunity as a Knicks assistant, or fight tooth and nail for every single NIL dollar I can and schmoozing alumni with big pockets at events I don’t feel like being at? It’s just the timing of the situation that looks awful and that’s how Billy Lange’s legacy will always be remembered instead of the two Big 5 Championships he won and getting the Hawks out of purgatory after Phil Martelli was fired. What a day! I did not think I’d be talking Big 5 ball this week! Now I’ve got to re-focus and prep for the gigantic football game I have this weekend! BURY THE BOOMER!
