“This Would Be the Worst Collapse in the History of the Mets,” Says New York Post Writer

Let’s check in on our neighbors to the north, who lost two of three to the lowly Warshington Nationals over the weekend:
What is this, the Philadelphia media? The Mets are still in it with six games to go! They just happen to be in an absolute dog fight with the Reds and the Arizona D Bags, who gained ground over the weekend. In fact, if the playoffs began today, the Mutts would be OUT by virtue of a tiebreaker, since Cincinnati won the season series. New York has lost 11 of 15 games and finishes up with six games on the road against the Cubbies and the Marlins. The Reds have the lowly Pirates at home but have to finish up with three in Milwaukee, though by that point the Brewers may have wrapped up the #1 seed. Arizona still has to play the Dodgers at home and Padres on the road, so that’s a tough one for them. It would be real unfortunate if they missed the postseason (not). Picking between the Mets and Diamondbacks is like picking between Hamas and Hezbollah, therefore, let’s go Reds!
*It’s certainly possible that these jokers figure it out and slide into the bracket on the same side as the Phillies. We’re not underestimating the Mets, but it’s always good to have a laugh at their expense.
