Johan Rojas, a potential bench bat in the postseason, will not be on the NLDS roster, Dave Dombrowski told the media on Tuesday afternoon.

Rojas has been down in Triple-A since August 1st, making room for Harrison Bader on the 26-man roster following the trade deadline. Rojas hit .279 in 147 at-bats in Lehigh Valley this season with a .699 OPS, 13 RBIs, and 8 stolen bases.

Rojas is still nursing an injury to his left quad. He’s been going through treatment over the last few weeks, but he won’t be ready to be a potential bench option for the Phillies in the NLDS.

“Rojas is here (as part of the stay-ready camp), but he won’t participate. His quad is still bothering him,” said Dave Dombrowski. “We think he’ll be fine for the next series (but not the NLDS).”

It wasn’t a lock that Rojas was even going to be on the roster. The Phillies like Weston Wilson’s bat against left-handed pitching. Rojas’ big task would be pinch running and late-game defense, but he’s not 100% ready to return to game-action just yet.

Right now, I think the most likely outfield rotation in October looks like this:

  • Harrison Bader
  • Brandon Marsh
  • Max Kepler
  • Nick Castellanos
  • Weston Wilson
