The Phillies are wearing the fan-favorite powder blues for Game 3 and Game 4 (if necessary) in Los Angeles:

“We are. We talked about it 10 days ago,” Rob Thomson said in his media availability at Dodger Stadium on Tuesday. “Some of the players came to me, because they like playing in them. So we had to go through a bunch of hoops with Major League Baseball just to get it cleared, just to get it okayed by Major League Baseball that we could wear those on the road. Yeah, they wanted to wear them, so we got it done.”

Rob Thomson said the Phillies didn’t even bring the typical road gray uniforms, so if they win Game 3, they’ll wear the powder blues in Game 4 as well.

This wasn’t a panic move. The Phillies made the decision prior to the start of the series to wear them on the road.

The Phillies haven’t wore their powder blues on the road since 2019. They’ve typically been the “throwback Thursday” uniforms that the team wears for all Thursday home games. The Phillies went 6-1 in the powder blues this year, while going 41-40 in the road grays.

I love it. Even if this was a pre-series decision, I’m deciding to treat this as the Phillies are trying to change the vibe on the road. Game 3 is Wednesday night at 9:08 EST. Yoshinobu Yamamoto will get the ball for the Dodgers. Aaron Nola will make the start for the Phillies in a must-win game, with Ranger Suarez following him out of the bullpen.

Do NOT let the Phillies win Game 3.
