Respect to Orion Kerkering for Facing Reporters After Excruciating, Agonizing, Season-Ending Error

Credit where it’s due. Orion Kerkering made a season-ending mistake on Thursday night and then faced the media like a grown man:
“Hit off my foot, once that pressure got to me, just thought it was a faster throw to JT, little quicker throw than trying to cross-body it to Bryce. Just a horseshit throw.“
This guy is 24 years old, just made the worst play of his life, and is up there being transparent and honest when you know he’d rather crawl into a hole and die.
Say what you will about this Phillies group as on-field performers, but they’re largely accountable and don’t run and hide from reporters, nor do they post a bunch of cryptic nonsense on social media. That’s worth something. At least these guys have the balls to stand there and take questions when other players on other teams would slide out the back door.
