The Flyers and Sixers Are Both Underdogs in a Rare Road Friday Double Dip Tonight

The rare Friday Sixers-Flyers double dip takes place tonight. Both teams are on the road, but the Sixers’ game in Detroit is far more important than the Flyers’ trip to St. Louis. Here’s a look at the odds and props for each game.
Sixers (+4.5) at Pistons (O/U: 230.5)
The Sixers’ NBA Cup lives are on the line on Friday night in Detroit.
The Sixers are 0-1 in East Group B with a loss to Boston. The Pistons, Magic and Nets are the other three teams in the group. If the Sixers win, themselves, Detroit and Boston would all have one loss in group play. Brooklyn plays Orlando on Friday night, so the expectation is for the Magic to go 2-0. To beat the Pistons, the Sixers have to contain Jalen Duren, who just put up 21 points and 16 rebounds at Xfinity Mobile Arena on Sunday.
Duren, Cade Cunningham and Isaiah Stewart are all listed as questionable, but the point spread suggest the at least Duren and Cunningham will play. I can’t imagine the number would be so far in the Pistons’ favor if one or both were out. The Sixers won’t have Joel Embiid, Paul George and Jared McCain, none of which are surprises. They’re going to need another serviceable game from Andre Drummond, who had 17 and 12 on Sunday vs. Detroit.
Stating the obvious here, but Tyrese Maxey and the other scorers must play well in order to capture the road win. Bet365 has a 50 percent NBA SGP boost for Friday’s NBA Cup games. I would start that SGP build with Maxey Over 11.5 assists and rebounds. It’s a prop I highlighted earlier in the week. He’s had at least 10 A/R in every game this month. He had 14 assists and eight rebounds in the first NBA Cup group-stage game against Boston. I’d play that as a straight as well.
I would add Maxey 25+ points and Drummond 10+ points and 10+ rebounds to Maxey o11.5 A/R to get you to +320 before the boost is applied. Drummond has three double-doubles in the last four games, and we all know Maxey is going to take the most shots and likely be the Sixers’ leading scorer.
Flyers (+115) at Blues (O/U: 5.5)
The Flyers have at least been consistent in one regard: hitting the under. The Under is 4-1 in the last five Flyers games. They rank third in the NHL in goals against per game. Dan Vladar ranks second in GAA and third in save percentage. The offense isn’t exactly clicking right now, but that’s okay if Vladar is keeping the Flyers in games. Bet on the under on New Jersey sports betting apps.
I wouldn’t play too much outside of the Under because the Flyers and Blues rank toward the bottom of the league in shots on goal per game. St. Louis only gets 26.2 shots on goal per contest, while the Flyers are even worse with 24.6 SOG per game.
If you want to play one prop, I’d go with Travis Konecny Over 0.5 points (-150 on BetMGM). He’s on an eight-game point streak.
