Ranger Suarez and Kyle Schwarber have both rejected the 1-year, $22.025M qualifying offer from the Phillies, per multiple reports:

The only players to accept the offer were Trent Grisham (NYY), Gleyber Torres (DET), Brandon Woodruff (MIL), and Shota Imanaga (Cubs). Here are the other nine players that rejected the offer:

  • Kyle Schwarber
  • Ranger Suarez
  • Kyle Tucker
  • Bo Bichette
  • Framber Valdez
  • Dylan Cease
  • Edwin Diaz
  • Zac Gallen
  • Michael King

Both Suarez and Schwarber rejecting the QO was expected, as both veterans will seek multi-year deals this offseason. Schwarber is coming off a 56-homer season, the National League leader, while Suarez is set to be one of the best starting pitchers on the market.

Schwarber is still at the top of the Phillies’ offseason wishlist. As for Suarez, he’ll be tougher to bring back. In a perfect world, the Phillies would love to have all four of their big free agents (Schwarber, Suarez, Harrison Bader, and JT Realmuto) back. But unfortunately, it isn’t a perfect world.
