Steve Mason was supposed to practice today and increase his workload from the mere 15 minutes he spent on-ice yesterday. But nope. No Mason, according to the scriptuals in attendance.

Ray Emery and Cal Heeter (OH MY GOD WE’RE AN EMERY GAME MISCONDUCT AWAY FROM CAL HEETER IN A PLAYOFF GAME, AREN’T WE?) took to the ice this morning sans Mason. It’s unclear if Mason suffered a setback, is having tests done, or has been hidden in the locker room for an extra 10 minutes just to mess with Flyers fans.

Together we gulp.

UPDATE: And yep, Mason is out. He was feeling well enough to skate today and won’t be making the trip to New York, but could still be available for Game 2, according to reports. Great.
