Dunno if this counts a silver lining or not, but our friends at BetMGM sent over the latest NFC East odds:

  • Favorite: Eagles -1100
  • 2nd favorite: Cowboys +700
  • off the board and eliminated: G-Men and Commies
  • Highest Ticket %: Cowboys 33.3%
  • Highest Handle %: Eagles 28.1%
  • Biggest liabilityGiants

They were -10000 about two weeks ago. They they lost their third in a row after Dallas tripped up in Detroit. They’re 6-6-1 and the Birds are 8-5 with four games left to play. The Eagles are actually the biggest division favorite at NJ and PA sports betting apps, mostly because the other three teams are butt. And Kalshi has the Eagles as an 89% favorite to become the first repeat NFC East winner since 2004.

Thing is, neither team has a difficult schedule down the stretch, so whomever wins the division is going to unimpressively sort of face plant across the finish line. The Birds have Vegas at home, Buffalo on the road, and a home/home against the Commanders. Dallas has the Vikings and Chargers at home, then Warshington and the Giants on the road.

The Eagles really just have to handle Super Bowl champion Kenny Pickett and a putrid Vegas team at the Linc, and then beat Marcus Mariota twice. Washington is so injured and demoralized. They’ve had a brutal season.

If Dallas loses another one they’re pretty much done. Winning out only gets them to 10-6-1 and if the Eagles handle the dreck on the schedule while losing to the Bills, they go to 11-6. The Detroit loss really killed it for Dem Boyzzzz.

Of COURSE, the Eagles could lose two more. Or three more, or not win again. In 2023 they lost to that putrid Cardinals team at home. I just think the difference between 2023 and now is Vic Fangio’s defense. As much of a gong show as this has been over the last few weeks, it’s only happening on one side of the ball.
