Now that I’m seeing this in actuality, I kinda hate it:

When Ranger signed with the Massholes, the initial reaction was mostly positive just based on the fact that he didn’t go to New York. That was after Buster Olney linked him to the Mets, along with Framber Valdez. And it was widely accepted that Suarez wasn’t coming back to Philly anyway.

Now? Dunno. Ranger was here for so long that he felt like one of those “Phillies for life” kind of guys, even if we knew he was ggone. You don’t fault him for getting the bag and earning his money and his opportunity elsewhere, but it’s one of those things where you can’t really anticipate how you’re going to feel until it actually hits you. It’s like seeing Brett Favre in the Vikings jersey for the first time, or Brian Dawkins as a Denver Bronco. Tom Brady wearing the Bucs gear, etc.

The Red Sox don’t play in Philly this season. That series will be in Boston. But whenever Suarez does make it back here, have the tribute video ready to go. He was always a gamer during his time with the organization.
