The #Cowboys are working to hire #Eagles secondary coach and passing game coordinator Christian Parker as their new defensive coordinator, per me and @TomPelissero. The deal is not done, but hope is it will be.

Figures. Those jabronies were so bad defensively that they needed to hire a coach from a good program to make themselves respectable. Shameless!

We don’t really know how involved Parker has been over the last two seasons, but we do know that the secondary has been incredible. Quinyon Mitchell, Cooper DeJean, etc. That’s all it’s gonna take for Birds fans to consider this a big loss and Cowboys fans a big gain. He also worked with Pat Surtain in Denver.

Parker certainly knows Vic Fangio’s defensive system and can install it in the Big D if he wants to. The Eagles certainly know Parker, so assuming they hire a competent offensive coordinator, they should be in a decent spot against their biggest rival. But we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.
