Don’t Let Negative Phillies Thoughts Prevent You from Smashing the OVER Total Wins

The Phillies play a baseball game on Saturday, their first of many over the next nine months. And while the vibes aren’t as high as they were last year, or the year before, or the year before that, sometimes you have to pause and reflect and think about what this team really is.

It’s a 96-win team. They won the most games they’ve won since 2011. In fact, they’ve improved their regular season win total in five consecutive years, going from 82 wins in 2021 to 87, 90, 95, and 96. There’s no concern that they won’t win a bunch of regular season games; there’s concern that they are going to go cold in the postseason for the third straight season and chase a bunch of garbage in the dirt.

That being what it is, there’s a good opportunity to hit the Phils’ win totals at Kalshi:

If we believe that the Phillies are “running it back,” then what is a lateral move from 96 wins? Is it 95 wins? 94 wins? 97 wins? 90+ wins is currently trading at 52% YES on Kalshi, which means a $10 wager returns $19. Even 85+ wins at 67 cents returns $14 on a $10 wager. Their win total could drop by 11 games and you’d still cash that one.

Are we thinking with our hearts, guts, or brains right now? This may or may not be a World Series team, but they are absolutely good enough to win 90+ and take the NL East for the third straight season.
