There’s been a lot of weather drama on the timeline, mostly John Bolaris going on rambling diatribes, but snow is all the rage these days, and so it’s worth taking a look at the current SNOW TOTAL offerings on Kalshi:

Data for CLIPHL can be found by clicking the following URL: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/Climate?wfo=phi, navigating to the “Observed Weather” tab, and choosing the location “Philadelphia, PA” with Daily Climate Report selected.

Please use the latest version of the data for the desired date, keeping in mind that different cities update their reports at different frequencies. Not all weather data is the same. While checking a source like AccuWeather or Google Weather may help guide your decision, the official and final value used to determine this market as reported by the corresponding NWS Climatological Report (Daily) linked in the rules above. Preliminary NWS reporting and measurement methods may be subject to underlying rounding and conversion nuances. Traders should exercise caution when interpreting preliminary NWS data. Note: this event is directional.

According to the NWS chart, the snowfall total for Philadelphia for the month of February is 6.8 inches. That’s as of publication on 2 p.m. Monday. There is more snow in the forecast for this week, then it looks like it’s turning to rain on Thursday. That brings us to February 26th and the month is over this Saturday, the 28th. Time flies when you’re snowed in and miserable.

I am going to completely ignore the predictions and go with my gut. My gut tells me that we’re not gonna get obliterated for a third time this winter, so I’m gonna take the NO to 15 inches at 44 cents. I put 10 bucks on it. Maybe you’ve got an inside track to some high-level meteorological information and wanna go in a different direction, but I’m taking the Eagles fan approach and going with heart over brains.
