The White Women of Facebook are Demanding that Action News Bring Back Jamie Apody to Replace Gabriella Galati

The big story on Action News is that Gabriella Galati is no longer anchoring sports at WPVI. She left the Eagles’ in-house media team to join the station in 2023 and disappeared at the end of 2025, the station confirming earlier this week that she’s no longer an employee.

Like death and taxes, you can be certain that the middle-aged white women of Facebook will have strong opinions about the departure of female Action News talent, and sure enough, a mirrored IG post on our Facebook account got almost 500 comments.

They want Jamie Apody to come back:

There were a couple of Taryn Hatcher mentions in there as well. Why not? She’s a free agent. Action News could do a lot worse than giving her a buzz. She’s worked in Philly sports for the last eight years and knows what’s up. Like Chip Kelly and Marcus Mariota, WPVI should #DoTheDeal with Taryn.

The Jamie thing is crazy though. She’s got more fans than the Pittsburgh Pirates, fans who aren’t happy about her messy departure a few years ago. And she still can’t talk about it, can’t tell her side of the story, which has to be excruciating.

If I had to put a number on it, I’d say a Jamie Apody and channel 6 reunion has a 0.00000000000000000001% chance of happening. There’s a better chance of Donald Trump becoming Iran’s next supreme leader. But you never know! They said Bryce Harper would never sign with the Phillies, and look what happened there.

Every time we write something about Action News, which isn’t that often, people have a ton of opinions and they seem really enthusiastic about those opinions. WPVI is still a huge player in the Philadelphia market, even with television skewing towards an older audience these days, typically 50+ with more women than men.

The younger generations? We will continue to get our news from bullshit influencers and Twitter scam artists from Asia.
