Predictably, the Stefon Diggs Release Shifted the A.J. Brown “Next Team” Market
The NFL Insiders are reporting that the Patriots will release Stefon Diggs after one season, despite Diggs being their first 1,000-yard receiver since Julian Edelman.
Naturally, it re-ignited the A.J. Brown trade rumors and had significant prediction market impact:
A.J. to stay with the Eagles dropped below 50% for the first time since the start of the Combine. Despite all of the chatter coming out of Indy, the market had him back up in the mid-50s this week, with the Patriots hovering around 20%. Now they’re in the 40% range with the Birds.
If your gut is telling you that A.J. stays with the Birds, there’s an opportunity to buy on the drop. New England could go in any direction. Maybe they have Alec Pierce lined up in free agency. Maybe they’re high on their existing group and look to add a receiver in the first round. There are 4-5 guys being mocked as first rounders, from Carnell Tate and Jordyn Tyson to Omar Cooper Jr., Denzel Boston, and Makai Lemon.
Good luck!
