If D.J. Moore is Worth a 2nd Round Draft Pick, then A.J. Brown is Worth a 1st

Da Bears moved D.J. Moore to Buffalo:

There’s been chatter about A.J. Brown’s trade value, should the Birds decide to move him. Some bozos are out there arguing that a 2nd round draft pick should be enough, which is stupid. A.J. has four straight 1,000-yard receiving seasons and 32 regular season touchdowns in that time frame. D.J. Moore has crested a thousand yards once since 2021 with 27 touchdowns over the same span.

Here’s what each guy has done in the regular season since 2022, going back to A.J.’s first Birds season:

A.J. Brown is worth a first round draft pick. So what if the Eagles acquired him for a 1st and a 3rd back in 2022? What exactly has depreciated in value? He had monster seasons in ’22 and ’23 and then just normal “elite” seasons in ’24 and ’25, one of those due in large part to the fact that the Birds had the best offensive line and running back in the game. But he’s entering his age 29 season, not exactly a dinosaur, and remains one of the league’s best receivers. This isn’t like buying a Nissan Altima for $5,000 and then donating it four years later to Karz 4 Kids. He’s still got a lot of value, and if you disagree, go complain to the Bills, because they just set the market for every other team looking for a receiver. The added pick coming back is whatever. It’s a 5th rounder. If D.J. Moore and a 5th round pick returns you a 2nd rounder, then A.J. Brown has to return a 1st. Otherwise it’s pointless to trade him, unless someone is packaging two 2nds, and one of those is in the top half of the round. The Patriots’ pick is basically an early second rounder anyway, so keep that in the back of your mind.
