Howie Roseman Quells Nonsensical Outrage with Addition of Super Bowl-Winning Corner
What? Did we think Howie was gonna sit there and do nothing? –
Now we’re talking. Riq Woolen played the fourth-most snaps on Seattle’s Super Bowl-winning defense, which was lights out all year long. He was a Pro Bowl player as a rookie and in four NFL seasons has 12 picks and 53 PBUs.
ESPN had him pegged as one of the best free agents out there on day 2:
“Since entering the league in 2022, Woolen’s 8 interceptions in man coverage rank 3rd according to ESPN Analytics / NFL Next Gen Stats.”
Quinyon Mitchell, Cooooooper DeJean, and Riq Woolen is a great outside + slot CB trio. You feel really good about CB2 after a season of Adoree Jackson. Drew Mukuba will be back at safety and they need one more guy out there to complete a very good secondary.
Howie Roseman will cook. It was never a question. He just got a really good CB2 on a one-year prove it type of deal. We trust Howie, and you should too.
