Adam Schefter Says the Eagles Never Shopped Jalen Carter
Adam Schefter was on Pat McAfee’s show Wednesday afternoon and was asked about Jalen Carter:
“Yeah, the Eagles never have shopped him. Never have shopped him. And that doesn’t mean they can’t in the future, but they have not made him available.”
There was some slight buzz about a Jalen Carter trade. Micah Parsons said on his podcast that Carter was offered up in talks before he wound up in Green Bay. Jeremy Fowler reported a few days ago that the Birds received trade calls:
Perhaps some ESPN on ESPN crime here, unless it’s semantics. Taking a trade call on a guy doesn’t necessarily mean you’ve “made him available.”
Either way, trading Carter makes no sense. The guy is a stud when he’s not getting himself booted from games for spitting on the opposing quarterback. Carter is going into his fourth season with a $6.9 million cap hit, then there’s the 5th-year club option for 2027, but he’s in line for a big contract extension sooner rather than later.
