Eagles news:

There was SCUTTLEBUTT that Dickerson would retire this winter, presumably to ride his lawnmower and do projects around the house. He was banged up for most of the year and spent the season prior bulldozing and pancaking fools as the Eagles won the Super Bowl behind the best rushing attack in franchise history.

You wouldn’t have blamed him for calling it quits, saving his brain, and riding off into the sunset, but we’re glad he didn’t, because he’s still only 27 years old and has more in the tank. He revealed that he had stem cell therapy this offseason in Colombia and hopefully he feels good coming into camp after a long and restful offseason.

Revising the contract gives the Eagles some flexibility and provides Dickerson a pathway to early retirement. If he plays two more years and makes some good money, then he’s set up to end his career as he turns 30. That’s a solid run. Seven NFL seasons, at least three Pro Bowls, and a Super Bowl ring? Career earnings of more than $50 million? That’s good. Pretty, pretty good. Who wouldn’t sign up for that?
