Angelo Cataldi Doesn’t Want to Give Crossing Broad Any Promotion

This is pretty funny. Angelo Cataldi is continuing his “Shit on Philadelphia Media” 2026 dinosaur tour, and his latest stop was the On Pattison podcast with Mike Missanelli and Anthony San Francisco. Cataldi called Reuben Frank a “glorified PR agent,” reiterated that everyone has gone soft, and then towards the end of the appearance they played the word association game and Missanelli asked about CB:

“I have nothing to say about them. Whatever I say promotes them. I have had a policy for all the years I was on the air and now. I have nothing to say about them. Because I have no desire to promote what they are producing.”

That’s okay. We don’t need any promotion. We’re gonna do what we do regardless, which is rightfully rip people like Angelo Cataldi for decades of performative imbecility. Is that unfair? Too much criticism? I don’t think so. In truth, this is exactly how Angelo built his career, by constantly ripping players and coaches and executives, so I think we’re honestly just following in Angelo’s footsteps. Are we Angelo disciples? A question for the philosophers, perhaps! It’s a modern spin on the Golden Rule – “rip Angelo Cataldi as he ripped everybody else for 33 years.”

What are we “producing” anyway? Not a bus full of drunks, to go up and boo at the NFL Draft. Not frothing toxicity and Negadelphia. I think Angelo has the wrong impression about Crossing Broad. CB is actually one of the more pragmatic and reasonable outlets in the greater Philadelphia region. We’re a lot more fair and a lot more balanced than most of our peers, and apparently nowadays that makes you a “pussy.” If given a choice, I’d rather be a pussy than a carpetbagging Yankees fan from Rhode Island who traded legitimate sports journalism for talk radio buffoonery.
