Oh man. What a savage line from 97.5 the Fanatic caller “Paul in Philly” –

“I’ll tell you what, the Flyers beat those Penguins like Mikey Miss beatin’ his fiance.”

A reader sent this clip over on Saturday night. It’s from the Flyers/Penguins postgame show with Jon Marks and Jason Myrtetus, and it sounds like they dumped it from the radio broadcast, though that doesn’t keep it from being heard over the YouTube stream. The goal horn sound had me laughing out loud.

If you were not aware, Missanelli was arrested and charged with simple assault and harassment back on April 8th. He posted $10,000 bail and his next court date, originally scheduled for this week, was pushed to June 24th. That’s according to public documents.

A police report was filed at the time, and summarized by Emily Rose Grassi at NBC 10:

The officer reported seeing what looked like fresh blood on her forehead as well as a laceration and her ear was swelling.

Missanelli told police that his fiancé had hit him in the chest, officials said.

When speaking with Missanelli’s fiancé, she said the couple had been arguing about their engagement when he open hand slapped her on the left side of her face, the criminal complaint says.

The court docs say that Mike is being represented by Brian J. McMonagle of McMonagle, Perri, McHugh, Mischak, and Davis. It’s a Center City firm of criminal defense lawyers who cover numerous areas of litigation. The documents show Lauren Elizabeth Marvel of the Montco DA’s Office representing the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
