Bloodthirsty Jaylen Brown Says His Mentality for This Season is “Kill”

Whoah, we’ve got a pretty metal quote from Jaylen Brown on a recent live stream:
“I’ll be listening and I’ll be waiting, but my mentality is ‘kill,’ you know what I mean? I feel like I want blood this year. You know what I mean? I feel like that’s the mentality. I want blood.”
God damn!
Either Brown was recently inflicted with vampirism, or he’s just really motivated for basketball to start. Here he is showing up to training camp at the Camden practice facility:
But on a more serious note, doesn’t it feel like the Sixers are locked in? Brown is obviously gonna carry a chip on the shoulder coming off the Boston trade. The way he’s speaking, it seems like he feels like he has something to prove. Tyrese Maxey is in the gym with Brown and LeBron James and a bunch of other guys. Joel Embiid looks like he lost some weight and he’s not carrying a debilitating injury into the season. Yay! It will be nice to once again invest in a Sixers regular season instead of going through a “wake me up when the playoffs begin” type of thing. We haven’t truly had this feeling since… maybe Embiid’s MVP year. Depends on how big of a fan you are and how willing you are to get hurt.
By the way, it’s funny how quickly things change, because we used to make fun of Brown’s streams. He’d go on there and complain about Joel flopping, while he himself spent half the playoff series pushing off with his left forearm. Now these streams are going to be appointment viewing. Brown and Embiid are teammates. And we never said anything negative about Brown’s space-creating habits. No extension that I can see. Looks clean!
