Feeling Good About the Eagles After Jalen Hurts Debuts Fred Durst Look

Iconic. This is how Hurts should walk out in Week 1 against the Commanders. He should walk out with the baggy jacket and the backwards red fitted baseball hat, and all of the Eagles cheerleaders should dress like the young women in the music video. They should wear matching chinos with black tank tops and their own backwards red hats. Even the Birds’ male cheerleader can get in on this.
Consider these Fred Durst lyrics, and their depth. Doesn’t this sound like something Jalen Hurts would say at a press conference, or during a 40-minute GQ interview? –

Everyone that burns has to learn from the pain
“Everyone that burns has to learn from the pain” could be a parallel for overcoming sporting adversity. Jalen was probably burning after losing Super Bowl 57 (figuratively, not literally), but he learned from this pain and went on to demolish the Chiefs in Super Bowl 59. It’s really a beautiful message.
Do you think all of this is coincidence? It can’t be. QB1 always does things with purpose. He had a purpose before anyone had an opinion. Maybe Hurts is secretly a nu-metal fan. Perhaps he’s on a Limp Bizkit Spotify kick. After he finishes Significant Other he’s gonna check out Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water. He’s ready for John Otto to bring those phat beats.

Maybe this potential crossover seems odd, but I don’t think so. See, back in the 1990s you could listen to Korn and Anita Baker at the same time. They played K-Ci and JoJo at the junior high dances. People didn’t care about genres. You could go to Woodstock and see Sheryl Crow and DMX on the same stage. The radio would play Blind Melon and Blues Traveler and then hit you with some really grimy Alice in Chains. Some grungy and gritty stuff. Maybe Gen Z is having a different experience, but that’s how it was for our G-G-Generation.
