Our friends at BetMGM sent over some NFL futures insights and this one stood out:

Most bet Rushing Yards totals (tickets)

  1. Derrick Henry UNDER 1250.5 rushing yards
  2. Jalen Hurts OVER 400.5 rushing yards
  3. Travis Etienne OVER 850.5 rushing yards
  4. Kenneth Walker III OVER 925.5 rushing yards
  5. Chase Brown OVER 850.5 rushing yards

Jalen Hurts over 400.5 rushing yards is priced at -110. It’s a number he’s failed to eclipse just once in his entire career, when he ran the ball 63 times as a rookie for 354 yards and three scores. In the five years that he’s been the Eagles’ starting quarterback, he’s run for 784, 760, 605, 630, and 421 yards. Obviously there was a dip last season with the offensive struggles and the injuries along the offensive line, but he still cleared 400 yards with only 105 rushing attempts and hit the 4.0 yards-per-carry mark.

You would think the low number reflects question marks about the new Eagles’ offense. Will Hurts run the ball more or less under Sean Mannion? Will he scramble and continue to make off-schedule plays with his feet? The Sportradar data says Hurts scrambled 40 times last season, 39 times in 2024, and 47 times in 2023. The number has dipped slightly since 2022, but not drastically, and it hasn’t pulled him below 400 rushing yards in a regular season. Note that Hurts played at least 15 games in each of the last five seasons.

Looking at the prediction markets, Polymarket offers Hurts to go over 399.5 yards at 57%. It’s a good price for something that’s hit five seasons in a row. It’s just a matter of whether or not the change at offensive coordinator is scaring you off.
